Team Jesse Honors the Life of 1st Lt Travis Manion
This motto guided 1st Lt. Travis Manion, USMC from the time he was a young boy to the moment he made the ultimate sacrifice protecting his comrades on April 29th, 2007 in the Al Anbar province of Iraq. This same motto now guides the mission of the Travis Manion Foundation. “If Not Me, Then Who…”
So many of our nation’s fallen heroes, troops and veterans embody these five words. All of the men and women who selflessly serve our nation live by these words. All of the heroes who gave their lives to protect others lived by these words. All of the veterans who return home and want to continue to serve their country and communities live by these words. We should all be inspired by the character, leadership and sacrifice of those who serve in our military.
Today, we reflect upon all that the Travis Manion Foundation has accomplished in the past seven years. Each year, we are continuing to grow and make more of an impact. We are supporting an increasing number of veterans and families of the fallen. We are watching the "If Not Me, Then Who..." movement spread to communities across the country and around the world. These successes can be attributed to our strong partnerships; dedicated staff and volunteers; and selfless supporters- without your support, we would not be able to do the great work that we do.
Today, I challenge you to honor not only Travis, but all of our nation’s fallen heroes by asking yourself “If Not Me, Then Who…” and helping someone else. No act of selflessness or service is too small and many will be paid forward. Together, we can honor the men and women who selflessly gave their lives for our freedom. We can carry on their legacies by adopting the “If Not Me, Then Who…” motto to guide our own lives.
Sincerely,
Ryan Manion Borek President, Travis Manion Foundation
